This optional reusable to-go serviceware program replaces common single-use disposable products like clamshells and coffee cups with reusable options that students, faculty, and staff can take on the go, and return to be washed and used again.
How It Works
- Purchase a greenie container from the Mary Fisher cashier station for $10. We accept cash, Dining Dollars, Gopher Bucks, or credit card.
- Turn your clean greenie into the cashier when you swipe and we’ll give you a newly sanitized greenie for that meal period. You will also receive a fork, knife, and cup.
- Fill your greenie with your desired meal (the lid must be able to close) and take your meal outside to enjoy as your schedule permits.
- Rinse your container and return it to the cashier station the next time you need a meal on the go.
FAQs
Q: If I eat a meal in the dining hall, can I use my container and take another meal to go?
A: If you choose to eat in the dining hall and also fill your greenie, that counts as two meals and you will need to use 2 meal swipes.
Q: Can I eat a meal in the dining hall using my container?
A: Greenies are intended to solve dining needs when a student or faculty member may be unable to dine inside the café. Please reserve greenie usage for meals to go.
Q: What happens if I lose or damage my greenie?
A: You are able to purchase a new greenie at the Mary Fisher cashier stand for $10 at any time.
Q: I forgot my greenie! What do I do?
A: Guests are always welcome to dine in the café! You could also purchase a new greenie from the cashier stand at Mary Fisher.
Q: How much food can I take in my greenie?
A: The greenie is the perfect size for a balanced meal! For food safety reasons, the greenie lid must close prior to leaving the café.
Q: Can I use two greenies at the same time?
A: As long as you’ve swiped for two meals, you are good to go!
Q: Can I return the greenie at the end of the semester?
A: Please do! We will recycle any unusable greenies.
